Jacqui Tomkins

Being a midwife has been one of the greatest blessings of my life, where I have met and loved many wonderful women and their families. I have practiced as an IM for 15 years and before that I have worked in the busy obstetric units of London and the holistic midwifery-led birth centre of St. John’s and St. Elizabeth’s in St. John’s wood.

The laid-back, friendly affection shown to the whole family was quite outstanding.

Happy Husband

I work with my practice partners Mal Soomessur and Emilie Edwards and together we cover London and the surrounding counties as the London Birth Practice. We offer experience and skills to support women in a place that they choose, and have worked with women who have had previous caesarean sections, are expecting twins and find their baby is insisting on being born bottom first.

I was awarded Midwife of the Year 2014 (by the British Journal of Midwifery) for the work I have been involved in as Chair of IMUK, to secure insurance for self employed midwives.

I live near Tower Bridge with my husband and occasionally my two daughters. They both love to travel but always find their way home where they enjoy home cooking, press-ganged gardening and the attentions of our two excited Tibetan terriers.

To Jacqui, I love you lots and lots. I hope you will come and do a picture with me soon when the baby is out. Thank you for looking after my mummy and baby. I love you.
